The ServSafe book (and answer sheet inside) carry a $70 value that is non-refundable once it has been placed in the mail or given to the student. Books are mailed and tracked through USPS. Students enrolling within 5 business days of class must pick up their book from our Lakeside Avenue location. Please contact us to arrange pick-up. Students can always opt to pick their materials up instead of having them mailed, but must make us aware immediately upon enrollment if choosing this option.

Enrollment cancellations are not accepted within 5 days (120 hours) of the student's original class date or later. Students may transfer enrollment to a different session one time only, and transfers are not accepted within 48 hours of class or later.

Students who do not attend their scheduled class will not receive a refund or transfer. Students missing class due to a last-minute illness or emergency may receive a one-time transfer, however, with verification such as a physician's letter. Last-minute transfers are at the discretion of RVA Food Safety and are not guaranteed.

Students who miss their scheduled session, or who wish to transfer within 48 hours of the start of class, have two options: 1) Purchase a new enrollment or 2) Attempt to attend a future session (without incurring additional expense) by contacting us within 48 hours of that desired future session in order to see if there is an opening. It is the responsibility of the student to contact us to check on availability and there are no guarantees that there will be openings within any particular time frame.

RVA Food Safety reserves the right to cancel any sessions not meeting minimum attendance requirements (typically three students) or in case of instructor illness or emergency. In case of cancellation, students are able to either transfer to a different session or receive a refund (less any applicable book fees). Students will be notified of any cancellations due to insufficient enrollment at least 48 hours before class.

In case of instructor illness or emergency, students will be texted or emailed (using the information provided at registration) as far in advance as possible. It is the student's responsibility to check for any such messages prior to coming to class.
