Policies

The ServSafe book carries a value of $70 that is non-refundable 

once mailed to and opened by the student. All allowable refunds 

are less any applicable shipping fees. Students enrolling

within 5 days of class must pick up their book in-person at our

Lakeside Avenue location. Please contact us to arrange pick-up.

Enrollment cancellations are not accepted within 5 days (120 hours)

of the student's original class date or later. All allowable cancellations

carry a $10 administrative fee. Students may transfer enrollment to a different session, if necessary, one time only and transfers are not 

accepted within 48 hours of class or later.

Students who do not attend their class will not receive a refund or

a transfer. Students missing class due to illness may receive a

one-time transfer with a verified physician's letter.

RVA Food Safety reserves the right to cancel any sessions not 

meeting minimum attendance requirements (typically three

students) or in cases of instructor illness or emergency. In case of

cancellation, students are able to either transfer to a different session

or receive a refund (less the book fee if applicable). Students will be

notified of any cancellations due to insufficient enrollment at least 48 

hours before class.

 

In case of instructor illness or emergency, students will be texted

or emailed (using the information provided at registration) as far in

advance as possible. It is the student’s responsibility to check for

any such messages prior to coming to class.
