Textbooks for students enrolling more than 7 business days ahead of class are shipped via USPS (unless pick-up in our office is preferred and requested

immediately upon enrollment), while those enrolling within 7 business days of class must pick their materials up from our Lakeside Avenue office. Please email us to schedule pick-up should you need to (martin@rvafoodsafety.com).

The ServSafe book (and answer sheet inside) carry a $70 value and are non-refundable once either given to the student or shipped via USPS (unless the USPS tracker indicates they were never delivered). Mailed materials are the responsibility of the student once indicated by USPS tracker to have been delivered, and anyone not able to locate their book and answer sheet once indicated as delivered will need to purchase new ones. In the unlikely event that the book and answer sheet don’t arrive in time before class, students are able to re-schedule their session for another day. Alternatively, students can purchase a new book and answer sheet ($70) and then return the original (if still wrapped and in perfect condition) for a refund once it does arrive.

Enrollees may cancel their enrollment and receive a full refund (less any applicable book fees) but must cancel at least 5 days prior to their original start time for class. Students may transfer to a different session but may do so one time only. Transfers are not accepted within 48 hours of the start time for class or later. Students who do not attend their scheduled class will not receive a refund or transfer. However, students missing class due to a last-minute illness or emergency may receive a one-time transfer with verification such as a physician's letter. Last-minute transfers are at the discretion of RVA Food Safety and are not guaranteed.

Students who either miss their scheduled session, wish to transfer to a different session within 48 hours of the start time of their class, or need to transfer more than once have two options: 1) At no additional cost, a student can attend any future session they would like if there is still an opening in that session within 72 hours of it's start time. It is the responsibility of the student to check with us on availability within the 72-hour window.  2) Students may purchase a new enrollment (full-day students exercising this option can do so for $109 instead of $179 if they still have their book and answer sheet).

RVA Food Safety reserves the right to cancel any sessions not meeting minimum attendance requirements (typically three students) or in case of instructor illness or emergency. In case of cancellation, students are able to either transfer to a different session or receive a refund (less any applicable book fees). Students will be notified of any cancellations due to insufficient enrollment at least 48 hours before class. In case of instructor illness or emergency, students will be texted or emailed (using the information provided at registration) as far in advance as possible. It is the student's responsibility to check for any such messages prior to coming to class.
